Living Room Yoga, opened in 2005, is located off the beaten path in a serene home studio in Montague Center, MA. The studio evolved from my personal interest in learning more about the classic philosophy of yoga as I began to feel the changes that accompany middle age. I explored yoga as a purely physical practice when I was young dancer and actor, though shifted my interests as my husband and I built a house, careers, and family. Once in my fifties I felt a strong need to return to yoga to help figure out how to live the rest of my life. Benefits of yoga are not only the popularly touted health goals such as, weight loss, flexibility and muscle toning, but the more intentional aspects of connecting to one's spiritual or soulful part of life. The beauty of each yoga experience is the foundation of peaceful acceptance of who we are, at this moment. Yoga traditions are 4,500 - 5,000 years old and most contemporary issues that cause us psychological, emotional, or physical discomfort or distress have already been systematically analyzed and solved within the yogic pantheon. My intention in each individual session or class is to provide the guidance for you to find the inner sanctuary that is the promise of yoga.
I have a 500-hour Purusha Yoga teacher certification with an emphasis on yoga therapeutics, and am registered with The Yoga Alliance. Thematic workshops are offered throughout the year at Living Room Yoga and include Resolutions, Yoga for Creativity, and Managing Stress.
